Spending at the West Chester Trustee Meeting - August 27, 2019
West Chester Board of Trustees met on August 27, 2019. The following are the requisitions passed at the meeting.
$8,500.00 Zoll Data Systems, Inc. – Renew annual software maintenance agreement for EMS reporting
Zoll Data Systems provide the software that the paramedic utilizes to document the patient information and care, captures the heart rhythm (EKG) and transmits the report electronically to the hospital. This software provides for the complete patient care record to follow the patient electronically and function as a permanent part of their health care record.
$64,048.28 John R. Jurgensen Company– Approve paving application for 2019 (Increase PO# S191579)
The Community Services Department added two additional projects to this seasons road work. Jurgensen is the company that we have contracted with this season to perform the road work. The road work include: base repairs on Allen Road and additional work on the southern end of International Boulevard that should be corrected this summer while paving crews are in the immediate area.
These repairs will prolong the life of the infrastructure. The repairs include milling and paving the approaches to the Allen Road Bridge, and additional base repairs to Allen Road and International Boulevard.
$28,820.00 Mills Fence Company – Replace fence around the Keehner Park multiuse courts
Keehner Park is continuing to be upgraded this year. The new addition this summer is our new multipurpose courts. The upgrade will include two basketball courts and new goals for each court. It will also include one tennis court, two pickle ball courts and a multipurpose court area. The contractor will mill down the existing court, add a stabilization fabric, and install new paving.
One aspect of the improvement is the fence around the courts. The Board has approved a contract with Mills Fence Company to replace the fence. We originally planned to remove a portion of the existing fence around the courts, complete the work, and then reinstall the existing fence. It was determined that some of the fence posts were in the existing pavement and some were not. There was concern the fence posts in the pavement may cause an issue down the road with the new pavement.
The new fence will be installed in the grass around the perimeter of the new multiuse courts, and eliminate the chance the fence posts will impact the new pavement down the road.
Update to Tylersville Road
The Trustees approved an agreement with Ohio Department of Transportation to replace the fence that spans the bridge over I-75. Right now it is a standard chain link fence. When the improvements to the Tylersville Road bridge deck begins in 2020, we will replace the fence with a higher quality fence. No spending was done on this issue, just an agreement.
